HIMCO locks have been discontinued for more than 25 years. If you have a HIMCO lock that needs attention, Kennedy Lock & Secure LA is one of the very few locksmiths in Los Angeles still able to help.

Why Nick at Kennedy Lock & Secure LA?

The owner of HIMCO personally requested Nick to help HIMCO customers salvage these locks for as long as possible. For the past 2 years, Nick has been the go-to locksmith in Los Angeles for HIMCO lock service, repairs, and remaining parts.

HIMCO locks have been out of production for over 25 years. Parts availability is extremely limited. Please call our staff and get a rough estimate of the cost of parts and what the situation. Most of the time it is still cheaper than a replacement door at Home Depot plus install — and the quality isn’t the same as HIMCO gates. If we could replace the units fully we would, but it is not possible. So remember, it is still “grandpa’s leg.”

Replacement swing bolts (very limited supply)
Replacement handles — black color
Replacement lock cylinders
Unfortunately, no 2 locks can be keyed the same — cylinders are not rekeyable

Repair floppy or partially extending swing bolts
Replace worn or damaged handles
Replace lock cylinders
Repair broken internal parts where possible
Advise on long-term options if repair isn’t viable

Can’t repair it? We can still save your gate. If the lock can’t be repaired, we offer a weldable box option to keep your HIMCO gate functional. Don’t downgrade to a Home Depot replacement — keep the strength and integrity of your HIMCO gate.

Handle with stripped screws

Handles with stripped screws that can’t be removed need to be replaced. We carry replacement handles in black.

Usually repairable

Floppy or partial swing bolt

Swing bolts that are floppy or only flip out halfway can usually be repaired. We have limited replacement swing bolts available as well.

Assessment required

Broken internal parts

The lock must be taken apart to be properly inspected. An assessment fee applies if internal parts cannot be repaired. We always try our best to repair anything if possible.

Cylinder replacement

Worn or failed lock cylinder

We carry replacement cylinders. Please note: no two locks can be keyed the same — HIMCO cylinders are not rekeyable.
